Reaching Out

They say love warms our hearts in times
of cold, but why is it that my heart is cold
and all around me just feels so old, everything
is in place, yet no trace of my beloved to hold
I breathe in their scent in each and every
corner of the room, the sheets of my bed
are crying you, the tips of my fingers are
shivering missing a touch that once belonged
to you, a cozy hug with your body wrapped
around mine assuring me it's all gonna be fine
Hallucinations seem to be taking a toll on my
mind, like it's not mine, like it's still ours
is that you telling me that I can't be without
you? That you can't be with no "me" next to
you? Hey, would you mind hearing out my
heartbeat, for you to know how much I'm lost
in this defeat, how both of my wings are torn
to pieces and the chances of us to meet seem
to be a promise hard to keep
The remains of my smile have been stolen
all night and day for you I'm callin, your soul
is resting in peaceful heaven but here I'm lost,
don't know where I'm driven, in and out I'm
wandering, won't you come now? And Lead my
way to your faraway heaven
